Had a lovely time despite the weather – first week 30 degrees, second week 9 degrees. Highlights were Villandry, Chateau de Rivau and Loches which we returned to three times. Ecole (Gourmande) and creperie in Montresor very good.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely house. Much time was spent in the beautiful pool area but we also enjoyed exploring the local area. The macarons from the bakery in Montresor are a must, the night market in Loches was great fun and we can recommend La Glacerie for delicious ice cream and sorbet in St Aignan.

Such a lovely property and location. We loved the pool and the garden – lots of swimming and reading. Gentle cycles around the area and often down to lovely Montresor. The Loire et Cher ‘A Velo’ trails were brilliant. Villandry and Chenonceau were great visits. Many thanks go to the excellent, friendly Edouard.

A super week in a quintessential French gite. Authentic stone walls and floor tiles, comfy furnishings, lots of outdoor eating space and beautiful surroundings – what’s not to like, plus lots of reading material and an amazing visitor book! We loved Loches, Valencay, Beauval Zoo (and got amazing pictures of the pandas) and also Chenonceau. The Proxi in Montresor was very handy for provisions as was the boulangerie for sweet indulgences! The Balcons d’Indrois walk was stunning with its views of the chateau. With all that we didn’t get time for table tennis. Maybe next time!

What a magical place. It’s been a wonderful week in this beautiful house. We have been out and about but could easily have spent the week happily in the house and lovely Montresor. Thank you Sue and Henry, and we’ll be back!

A lovely first visit to this very pretty property. We were only able to stay for one week but made the most of all the time we had here. Everything was just as we would like it and a real pleasure to relax in. We hope we will be able to visit again next year.

A very restful fortnight spent doing very little! As frequent visitors to the region didn’t feel the need to revisit towns and chateaus… Local boulangerie is excellent and good lunches to be had at the Café de la Ville and Chemille sur Indrois (Moulin de Chaude).

Perfect tranquillity, can’t remember feeling so at peace. Difficult to tear self away from property. Good wifi reception… Local tourist office in Montresor very helpful and friendly. Lovely local honey.

We had a great time in your beautiful house and gardens. Very comfortable and quintessentially French. We loved it and visited Montresor, Loches, Valencay, Chenonceaux and the Zoo where the pandas were in great form. I could not believe how quiet the roads were - I also loved the quirky pyramides through Foret Geroges D'Amboise. Our overnight stay on Saturday evening turned out very well as the roses in Chedigny were in full bloom.

A wonderful holiday in this beautiful French country house. We have loved the pool and table tennis and boules in the garden.

Enjoyed Montresor chateau and medieval village and other chateaux of the Loire. The market at Loches and the old city.

A unique and special place. Thank you.

We’ve had a fantastic family holiday here, swimming in the pool, BBQs in the garden, sampling the local wines and cheeses.

We celebrated our 8-year-old’s birthday on Wednesday with a trip on the Velorail in Valencay, a beautiful cake made by the pâtissier in Montresor and a pizza from a vending machine! A day to remember. Kayaking was fun underneath a beautiful chateau with 'family kayak' (30 min drive).

We have loved every minute, Thank you.

We’ve had a brilliant stay here. We’ve loved the pool and table tennis every day, despite the heat.

Montresor is beautiful - we particularly enjoyed seeing Les Nuits Solaires with the chateau all lit up. The Zoopaarc de Beauval is fantastic – definitely a must if you have children or love animals (particularly giant pandas! Chenonceau was fascinating. We’ve had lots of wonderful wine and cheese and will be taking lots home too (thanks to a visit to Joel Delaunay – thanks for the recommendation!).

Our fifth trip here. It was lovely – even though the weather could have been better it was still as good a trip as any of our previous tris. The pool was fantastic and we had a lot of fun by it, playing table tennis. We very much recommend the café in Montresor by the castle walls – very nice meals. The whole place was just as it usually is – and overall we enjoyed it so much – thank you.

I just wanted to email to say, firstly, what a wonderful week we've had staying at La Dependance. It's absolutely beautiful here and it's going to be very hard to leave tomorrow. We've all oved the pool and its been very well used. All your guidance and notes have been very helpful too.

Great time had, especially enjoyed St Aignan and Loches. But best of all was just relaxing here.

This was our first family holiday in France and we feel very lucky to have spent it in such a lovely cottage. We loved the peace and quiet, the decor is lovely and the pool and area is fantastic.

Jack and family

This is our second time staying in a gite in France and this one was impossible to fault - fantastic location, so tranquil, a superb garden (full of fruit, you almost don't need to go to the supermarket) and a brilliant pool as well.

Adam and Geraldine

The gem is right on the doorstep. Montresor has a handy supermarket, a riverside walk, a beautiful and well furnished chateau and the not to be missed Cafe fe la Ville.

John and Sue

A perfect get away. We took our two young daughters and enjoyed a week of tranquility and relaxation. Having the pool to ourselves is fantastic and the house itself is very well equipped. Only a short walk from the beautiful Montresor this place has it all for a quiet family holiday - peace, pool and loads of wildlife to spot. Thank you.
