Welcome to La Dépendance
La Dépendance, near Montresor and 10kms from Loches, is a spacious, fully-modernised and comfortable two-bedroomed house sleeping 5 set in its own grounds with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Its location is idyllic - it has around two acres of garden and orchard and it is accessed by a track from a minor road 200 yards away.
The cottage forms part of an ancient fermette which retains all its rustic charm with outbuildings, greniers and granges (barns). The building has been restored using traditional materials and craftsmen to retain its historic charm.
With self-catering holiday accommodation for 5 in two bedrooms (one double, three singles) plus a separate sofabed on a mezzanine if flexible sleeping is needed, La Dépendance is an ideal gite for both families with children, offering plenty of space to run around. Its location near Montrésor makes it an ideal base from which to explore one of the most historic, beautiful, interesting and gastronomic areas of France.
When you rent La Dépendance, you will be the only people on the property. Peace, tranquillity and the swimming pool are yours and yours alone.

"15th-century Dépendance has an irresistible appeal for those who love 'la belle France'. Its spacious two storeys have been charmingly furnished with country antiques and the best of brand new: warm red sofas in the salon, beechwood table and chairs in the dining room, comfortable beds upstairs. The walls are pale exposed stone or fresh white plaster with natural wood beams, the kitchen is delightful and there's new oak for the stairs. L-shaped bedrooms, a wood-burner (logs provided) and original floor tiles add character. You have a terrace for barbecues under the stars, the orchard's peaches, plums and pears to pluck, honey, goat's and ewe's cheeses produced down the road."
The sitting/dining area of the gite is generously proportioned, (measuring approx 20' x 20') and is furnished with a mixture of modern and antique furniture. Winter warmth is provided by electric heating plus the charm of a wood-burning stove with plenty of fuel provided. All bedding is supplied. Linen and towels can be provided (at extra cost).

Private pool
Our gite has a 10m by 5m swimming pool, which is available from the end of May to mid-September. There is a large flagged sitting out area surrounding the pool which includes shade under an ancient timbered roof. Large sofas line two walls, allowing the whole family to laze around. Sun-loungers and hammocks can be positioned in favourite spots and, for the active, a table-tennis table and bats are provided. The swimming pool area is safely enclosed with a low-level fence which allows views of the orchard and fields beyond - all completely private.
